DIVING CONSULTANCY

The 1997 Diving at Work Regulations (DWR) lay out how, as a professional instructor, you should conduct diving operations.

The ACoP produced by the HSE is helpful in interpreting the DWR but there are still areas of uncertainty. For anyone contemplating teaching Scuba Diving at any level professionally an understanding of these regulations is vital. Getting it wrong can lead to prosecution by the HSE, accidents, injuries, legal claims, invalid insurance and so the list goes on.

Dennis Wigg has been teaching professionally for many years and will guide you through the web of legislation, addressing issues such as Risk Assessments, Project Plans, Emergency Action Plans, frequency of review etc.

These courses can also be used as evidence of “best practice” by non professional instructors where a funding authority (for example a Student’s Union) may want reassurance that “best practice” is being followed.
